Miss Anna Štube is currently completing the second full scholarship international music program of the summer. This program is the “21st Morningside Music Bridge Program” at the prestigious New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Mass. When she completes her program and competition, she will be coming to Kalamazoo for a family visit and to grace us with a concert.
Anna has put together a broad ranging program that demonstrates her considerable skill and musical versatility. There is something here for everybody ranging from Classical to Contemporary with a few pieces from her beloved homeland – Latvia. This is going to be the event of the summer and will be the last time this year that she will be performing in the USA. Please join us and plan on arriving early as the seating capacity of the church is limited to 250 patrons. After the concert we will adjourn to the Fellowship Hall for a glass of “bubbly” and an opportunity to meet the artists.
The Kalamazoo Latvian Association is now accepting donations for our annual fund raising Rummage Sale. The contact person for this event is Anita Gaudio. She can be reached at 269-349-2823 in order to make arrangements to drop off donated items. This annual event will give you an opportunity to clean out good, clean, usable, household items that you no longer need to have cluttering up your life, as well as, allowing you to support the Kalamazoo Latvian Association in it’s continuing mission of promoting Latvian heritage for the Latvian Community here in Kalamazoo. The rummage sale is slated for August 24th, 25th, and 26th and donations to our annual fund raiser are, as always, greatly appreciated.
